Chef Kevin Cory frequently served Jeffery Salter at the sushi bar and they became good friends. Jeffery Salter began his visual journey as a painter but now uses the camera and film as a brush and palette. He uses his eye to seek out images which are profound and ones which do not perpetrate stereotypes. His path as a visual artist has meandered from covering fashion in Milan, London and Paris to the social and political conflict in Haiti.
Jeffery Salter's work has appeared in many editorial magazines like Men's Journal, Rolling Stone, Time and Fortune. The former New York Times staff photographer's work has appeared in nine photography books and five Day in the Life books. His fine art photography has been exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Smithsonian and the Corcoran Museum. A World Press award winner, he has also received honors from Pictures of the Year and the Communication Arts annual.
Currently also focusing on cinematography, Salter is a staff photographer for Sports Illustrated Magazine and represented by Redux Pictures.
